English Class

English Class is a course for students aged 11 to 15. It presents language through a storyline featuring teenagers, which provides a fresh and engaging context for language learning. Students will identify with the characters, their adventures, responsibilities and difficulties.

Optional Macmillan reader-based task for the speaking component of Anglia Ascentis ESOL Examinations.

Both our organizations are very proud to announce that as of 2010 in Argentina, those candidates sitting one of the following four levels within the Anglia Ascentis ESOL Examinations. General English series will have the opportunity to choose one optional Macmillan reader-based task when taking the speaking component at elementary, pre-intermediate, intermediate or advanced level.

 Macmillan set books for Cambridge ESOL Examinations

This option is intended to give candidates the opportunity to read a range of literature written in English and to show in their writing that they have appreciated the themes, characters and relationships within the work they have read.

 
Two books are offered each year in simplified form, one a classic and the other something more recent, such as a thriller or science fiction book.

Macmillan scoops three awards at English Speaking Union Awards 2010

Book Award

Macmillan  is extremely proud to have received three awards at The English Speaking Union (ESU) Awards. These annual awards celebrate innovation and good practice in the field of English language and English language teaching.

Global, the new general English course for adults written by Lindsay Clandfield and a team of leading ELT authors, has been recognised with two top awards from the ESU, for both its print and digital components.
 
The Global print coursebook was awarded Joint Winner for the ‘HRH The Duke of Edinburgh ESU English Language Book Award 2010’. This award is based on originality and substance, and awarded by a panel of widely respected judges.
 
The Global eWorkbook was also awarded the ‘ESU President’s Award 2010’. The annual ESU President’s Award is judged on innovation and good design in the use of technology, as well as encouraging the widespread use of technology in teaching and learning worldwide.
 
Teaching English Grammar by Jim Scrivener was awarded ‘Best Entry for Teachers’ which recognises its valuable contribution for a teaching resource today.
